Post-Sound Therapy Guide

Hey you who has attended a Soundbath session:)

I’m so grateful you took this time for yourself. Sound healing isn’t just a one-time experience—it’s a gentle yet powerful practice that continues to resonate within you long after the session ends. Think of it like ripples in water, slowly expanding and working their way through your body, mind, and energy field.

With each session, your brain becomes more familiar with these states of deep relaxation. Over time, your brainwaves become better trained to naturally shift into alpha and delta states—the same states activated during meditation and deep rest. This means that when life feels overwhelming, your mind and body learn how to return to calm more easily, helping you regulate emotions, reduce stress, and improve focus. There goes to say that, our emotions and our behavior isn’t us, we are more than the stories that we sometimes tell ourselves. Our emotions and behaviors are simply passing states—not our entire identity. Sound therapy, meditation, and mindful practices help us reconnect with a deeper awareness, allowing us to observe our thoughts and emotions without being consumed by them.

We are not just the stories we tell ourselves—we are the awareness behind them.

Stay Hydrated

Sound therapy works deeply on a cellular level. Research suggests that sound vibrations influence the water content in our bodies, helping to shift stagnant energy and release stored tension. Drinking plenty of water after your session supports your body in flushing out toxins and maintaining balance. Try warm herbal tea or lemon water for an extra soothing effect.

Rest and Allow Integration

You might feel blissfully light, deeply relaxed, or even a little sleepy after a session. That’s your nervous system shifting into a parasympathetic state (aka “rest and digest” mode), which is where deep healing happens . Honor this by taking it easy—if you can, avoid rushing into a busy schedule right after.

Ground Yourself

Sometimes, after deep relaxation, you might feel a little “floaty” or detached. That’s completely normal! Try:

  • Walking barefoot on grass (earthing helps regulate your body’s energy)

  • Eating grounding foods like root vegetables, nuts, or warm soups

  • Deep belly breathing to reconnect with your body

  • Give your body a deep stretch

Reflect & Listen to Yourself

Sound healing can sometimes unlock emotions or memories stored in the body. If anything surfaced during your session, take a moment to write it down or simply sit with it—no judgment, just gentle curiosity. Your body and subconscious are speaking to you.

Be Kind to Your Emotions

You may feel lighter, more peaceful, or even experience an emotional release in the days following. This is part of your system recalibrating. If emotions come up, let them flow—whether through journaling, movement, or simply taking deep breaths. It’s all part of the process.

The Power of Brainwave Training

With regular sound therapy, your brainwaves begin to develop a natural rhythm of relaxation and restoration. Studies show that sound frequencies help guide the brain into alpha (calm, focused) and delta (deep sleep, healing) states. Over time, your brain learns how to shift into these states more effortlessly, helping you manage stress, emotions, and mental clarity with greater ease.

Your Healing Continues

Every sound bath experience is unique. And everyone of us experience it differently. Some benefits, like better sleep, reduced stress, and improved focus, may unfold over days or weeks. Keep tuning in, listening, and allowing the vibrations to do their work.

  • I felt incredibly rejuvenated afterward. It was like I had slept for 20 hours—my body was totally relaxed. One of the most interesting parts was feeling the vibration of the beats from the singing bowls, which was such a unique and soothing sensation. I loved it.

  • The session with Carrie was quite an out of body experience! I experienced a state of deep relaxation and inner calm. It feels as though the stress begins to melts away, leaving a sense of lightness and clarity. At the end of the session, one can’t help but feel some release of inner tension and mental clutter. It leaves you feeling rejuvenated, energised.
